I was raised around animals. As a teenager I rode horses at stables and volunteered at equestrian centres. We had a house rabbit named Raymond, plenty of domesticated racing pigeons, finches (birds) and a rescue husky named Nanook (2011-2023).  He was a huge part of my life and the inspiration behind the business logo design, as well as Pixel (my brother’s Jack Russell Terrier pictured). If I could live alongside a boisterous, adventurous and beautiful husky – I knew that I could work with other challenging breeds.

Later in life, I ventured into pursuing an education in Animal Care and Management at West Midlands Safari Park which required volunteering and work experience. I worked at farms, stables, veterinary clinics, dog grooming parlours and many more industries. I decided to work for a dog walking business in Birmingham, which then motivated me to pursue the career on my own two feet.

My first ever client was a Romanian Rescue, I walked to her on foot as I wasn’t driving at the time which was very strenuous (and committed). I reached out to them via Facebook explaining my keen interest and how I wanted to start up my business. Shortly after a successful Meet and Greet with the owner’s, followed by gaining their nervous rescue dog’s trust almost instantly – I knew this was my passion and the career for me!

Fast forward to 2022- I founded Tails On Trails after passing my driving test, gained my qualification in Canine First Aid and I am still continuing to educate myself every day, living and learning on the job!

Currently, I am a proud rabbit mom to three rescued misfits Rudy (pictured), Malin, and Finnan (@themidlandbuns), surrogate mom to two cats, sister to a rescue husky named Wolfie (pictured) and auntie to Pixel the JRT. Life couldn’t be better with these wonderful animals in my life!

FUN FACT: I was a mom to many Fancy Mice for 6 years – at one point I had 12 living as a mischief in an IKEA detolf enclosure.
